Before I became a mum, no actually before I started playing with arts and crafts I felt I lacked ideas of things to do with my child. So I thought I'd set myself a challenge for these school holidays and hopefully inspire some other parents as well.
Part 1 - At the end of each week, set aside a day or a time to reflect back on what you did for that week with the kids and ask them what is their favorite thing they did that week. She if they can draw a picture of that thing. This means by the end of the school holidays, you should have at least two drawings from each child (one per week).
Part 2 - Parent / s have to join the kids each week and have to either do an artwork or write about the week when the kids are doing their project. Family Time!!!!
Part 3 - This is the fun part and the real challenge. Put the drawings + writing + anything else (memorabilia i.e. ticket stubs) and photos together in a photo album, scrapbook, art journal, display box - anything where it will be kept safe.
Whose Up For The Challenge?
So parents, whose going to join me in the challenge and get your adult-spiration on?
Delve into those cupboards and draws and find those pens, pencils, crayons and paints (or other random bits of ribbon, stuff) ready for the challenge.
I would really love for you to share your project by either adding to the comments on facebook or email them through to firstname.lastname@example.org so I can share for you! Let me know if you would like it to remain anonymous.
I will start sharing these a week after the school holidays.
Sending love, hugs and strenghth to all.
